Site description: I love painting rivers, people and the countryside. But I am well known by many as the "Wave Man" because of my large "surf wave" paintings.
Editors comment: Martin's paintings vary in subject from a humble still life to the cascading water that the oceans create, from the calm of a winter scene to an incredible view looking up from beneath the sea to look at the underside of whales. The artist enjoys using a strong palette and is skillful with perspective, linear or colour hold no challenge. First I have chosen, 'Hastings Fishing Boat', the rich colours of the warm sky compliment the cool blues, I do like this painting. Next we have 'Winter Snow', this painting speaks for itself, a beautiful winters day captured for the rest of time by an artist. 'Deep Blue', a truly unique work of art, this is quite an amazing painting simply because of the subject, stunning. 'Walk in Wickham' simple in content yet representative of a typical British summer scene, magnificent oaks leaving summer and beginning the journey towards winter. Last is a painting that the artist has sold, I have chosen it because I like the way Martin has captured the light within the crashing foam of a huge wave, quite beautiful.
