Since I started painting in 2007 I have tried to work as an artist and painter in the English Watercolour tradition. The two subjects I love to paint are landscapes and seascapes.
I Draw my inspiration from the atmospheric and dramatic scenery ready available from both the Quantock hills in Somerset and various parts of the South Wales coastline, one with its steep and winding valleys and and the other with its rugged coast line.
Editors comment: Peter paints in my favourite medium, the paintings offer a delightful insight into the artists mind. Uncluttered, clear and focused on the task in hand. He mentions in his description about putting too much detail into his work, that's a tough call, it's easy to overpaint, more so in watercolour. A mess usually results. The artist has figured that one out and the result is clear, inspiring contemporary watercolour paintings.
