Editors comment: As an artist who sketches and paints the human form Peter excels. I get the impression that his models must be delighted by his portrayal of them, I think he paints exactly what he sees and that is priceless. The human body has some extremely beautiful parts when we are young and some quite unforgiving parts as we gradually get older. Peter paints them all in a truly honest way concentrating not on beauty but the body form. As a figure painter he is one of the best I have ever seen.

The first row of images is comprised of 'Caroline 5', Asha 6, 'The Dawlish Lady', this is one of many marine paintings that show the same dedication to reality as the nude figure studies. Then we have 'Caroline' again, an excellent model for the artist to have the services of. 'Cindy 1' comes last in this row.

The second row of work shows 'Dead Slow' a trio of boats waiting for high water. 'Caroline' features again, this study is typical of the artists dedication to painting the human form, excellent. 'Port Isaac 4' is a lovely sketch of a boat waiting for some attention, 'Asha 1', another truly inspiring painting. 'Camperdown Creek', another fine example of Peter's marine paintings, loose yet accurate, I love the style.

Houseboat 1

This painting, 'Houseboat 1' is exceptional, once again the loose style captures an atmosphere that is unique, the drawing of the boat, the perspective, all of it just adds up to a nice painting. I could live with one of Peter's paintings on one of my walls anytime. Terrific.
