  • Site description: Website showing the watercolour paintings of Amanda Spencer including floral's, dogs and miniature landscapes.
  • Editors comment: Amanda is an excellent artist, I have known this artist for some time now and it's fair to say she paints a delightful painting. This site is a new venture for her and is a little short on content, but, the paintings that are on display are as usual beautiful. It's also fair to say that new content is being added on a regular basis and so you will need to bookmark it so that you can return another day. Lovely work and the greyhound says it all, excellent.

  • Site Name: Chris Fothergill - Freelance Artist
  • Site description: Chris Fothergill - is a Cotswold based artist specialising in architectural illustrations, house portraits and watercolour landscapes.
  • Editors comment: Beautiful traditional watercolour, the type of paintings I never tire of looking at. Chris has a distinct style that allows the pigment to flow and blend with adjacent colour to perfection, together with a precise drawing technique this makes for a detailed and accurate painting. Where I to be the owner of this lovely house I would be delighted to ask the artist if I could make a purchase. As I said earlier, beautiful traditional watercolour, visit and enjoy as I have.

Judy Rossouw

  • Site Name: Judy Rossouw Artist
  • Site description: Interesting and fun images of many different animals and birds with prints for sale
  • Editors comment: Just look at this little fella, cute or what. Judy paints interesting subjects, this is just one example, the artist classes this work as 'whimsical' cute is my description. It must be quite difficult to think of subjects like this, then to draw and paint them. She is a talented lady, you will certainly enjoy visiting her site, I have.

David Hargreaves

  • Site Name: David Hargreaves artwork
  • Site description: Watercolour and ink paintings of locations around Monkseaton, Tynemouth, France and Italy.
  • Editors comment: 'Amsterdam Bicycles' is the name of this painting, I have chosen this one as representative of the majority of David's work. It is a refreshingly different style, I actually love the style. The artist has a 'loose' style, the way he treats perspective is brilliantly different. The buildings in this painting say it all, the bicycles are another example, a unique piece of work. I can honestly recommend you to pay a visit, there are many paintings on display and several pencil drawings too. I love them all.

Peter Weston

  • Site name: Peter's Watercolour Art Gallery
  • Site description: Peter's Art Gallery - a selection of amateur contemporary watercolour paintings.
  • Editors comment: I like this painting because I do find paintings of the sea quite a challenge, we have the intense blue on the horizon, a slightly different tone to the rest, preceded by the subtle greens and gentle blues. Above this we have the almost silvery high clouds, the type that don't dump a ton of rain on you, a mixture of soft greys and blues that help the lighthouse stand out. The lighthouse itself has good shape and strong contrast with its surroundings, I like strong contrast as it brings the whole painting to life. The whole painting is alive with the loneliness of the scene, very lonely. A nice place to live ! you bet.

Sheila Gill

  • Site Name: Sheila Gill Watercolour Artist
  • Site description: Watercolour award winning professional artist Sheila Gill, she produces pictures of a startling luminosity.
  • Editors comment: It has been pure pleasure slowly browsing Sheila's site, whether it's the gorgeous deep rich landscapes or any other subject they are all equally as interesting to view. The artist is not afraid to use strong colour, many artists don't, she uses it in a bold manner that can only pull us into the painting, like this view of the Peak District, I can really feel as though I am standing there, excellent. With the animal paintings the artist again uses a strong palette, completely unafraid to just lay the wash and let it settle. You should enjoy this work, I certainly did.

Sue Woodfine

  • Site Name: Sue Woodfine, Painter of Flowers
  • Site description: Beautiful, detailed flower paintings from life. Cards and prints available
  • Editors comment: I have to confess that watercolour is my favourite media for painting, I'm biased, I shall try to be fair though. This artist paints one of the most delightful flower watercolour paintings I have ever seen. Told you so... Seriously if you enjoy watercolour and in particular botany you will love this work, an astonishingly good attention to detail that would be good enough, but taken with the, sorry, beautiful application of watercolour makes them, as I said, delightful, prints are for sale as well so go and see for yourself, beautiful.

  • Site description: Displaying the unique and beautiful images by the artist & illustrator Mark Yardley, available to browse and purchase.
  • Editors comment: Stunning, the painting of this Elephant is stunning, I cannot do it justice with this small image when you visit Mark's site you will understand what I mean. The eye of the animal is looking straight at you, very real, very accurate. Mark must spend a considerable amount of time in setting the drawing out before he begins to paint as the detail is excellent. It follows then that the painting is excellent. A site for art lovers who like some detail, lovely work and extremely enjoyable.
