  • Site Name: Hampstead Portraits
  • Site Description: Classic bespoke oil paintings. Portraying life. Wedding, family, executive portraits.
  • Editors comment: What an extremely well painted portrait this is. The artist has captured the features and age of the subject very gently, what I mean by that is there are no hard lines, just nice skin texture. The composition is also well thought out, all in all a very talented artist. Not many pictures though, come on Anupa get the brushes going. Excellent work that I'm sure you will enjoy viewing.

  • Site Name: David Gilchrist Portraits
  • Site description: Oil portrait paintings and pencil drawings from your special photos.
  • Editors comment: I have chosen this piece of work because most of you will recognise the second part of 'The two Ronnie's, who could not recognise him. Brilliant, an accurate likeness is obvious throughout all of David's paintings. There are many pieces to see and appreciate. If you fancy a portrait by this man I'm sure you will be satisfied. I'm sure I would be. Take a look and see for yourself.

  • Site Name: John Luce Lockett Fine Artist
  • Site Description: Recent painting collections by JLL including The Bohemians also past collections.
  • Editors comment: John Luce Lockett is a rare and truly talented artist, I say rare because not many artists these days paint such beautiful subjects, these are not just paintings but almost a language, the subjects in all of the work are thinking and saying things. If you look into the work you can even see what they are thinking, The drawing skill is faultless and the paint application is pure poetry. I could use words like stunning or even excellent but you would all think I'm patronising the artist so I shall simply say go and see for yourself.

  • Site Name: tim steward art
  • Site description: Vibrant, semi-abstract figurative work with african and christian influence.
  • Editors comment: Extremely vibrant, together with a unique style make for an outstanding painting. Tim uses colour well, he has an excellent eye for colour perspective, a quality sometimes lacking these days, also colour tone. The distinctive way he draws people gives us an insight into the artists mind, I feel anyway. The subjects here are reaching out in celebration, brilliant. I particularly like 'Sea Symphony'. I really do recommend you pay a visit, you will not be disappointed.

  • Site Name: R H Portraiture
  • Site Description: My site contains some examples of my work. My main aim is to attract commissions rather than just sell my paintings.
  • Editors comment: What beautiful portraits. The atmosphere in this one is electric. Bearing in mind that I have hammered the image quality for this site, in its full resolution it's stunning. Richard says that this display is for the purpose of getting commissions, well, if I wanted a portrait painting I would love him to to it. Excellent drawing skill and first class painting skill, what more could you be looking for, brilliant.

  • Site Name: GH Art
  • Site Description: Online gallery of Richard C Horne. Original oil paintings with echoes of impressionism, surrealism and realism.
  • Editors comment: This artists work is quite amazing, this painting on the left looks for all the world to be metallic, I'm not quite sure how you get that effect but one thing is for sure it is unique. Richard seems to have great skill with the technical drawing of the subject, to draw the human form with perspective as strong as this takes some doing, in fact the more I look at it the more I wonder, very clever. There are many subjects on the artists site and all are drawn and painted with the same skill. Excelent work.

Richard Young

  • Site Name: R Young Art
  • Site Description: Original fine art realistic and contemporary oil paintings and sketches of tasteful nude and figurative subjects.
  • Editors comment: Another artist who studies the human form, and very good he is. Richard manages to capture in this painting beautiful and delicate skin tones, believe that is difficult, I know I have tried. The ultra strong background colour serves to display the model in the most attractive and gentle way possible, if you study the larger image on the site you will notice there is very little detail in the painting of the model, it is not needed, as it works well, very well.

  • Site Name: Lynne Gold
  • Site Description: Website representing young artist studying in London. Check for exhibition news . Selection of images.
  • Taken from the artists site: I apply paint in a style which embraces the nature of oil and includes blobs, brushstrokes and large marks to convey a sense of how we create an identity for ourselves which we try to convey to others through use of clothes, make up or even the way we speak.
  • Editors comment: You need Macromedia Flash 6 to view this artists site but if you don't have it you just download it from the site, it's worth it, the art is refreshingly different. Well drawn and well painted Lynne paints a strange but interesting subject !, you need to go and take a look you won't be disappointed.
