Editors comment: Paul has not given me much to go on with his description here above so I will try and do it. Wow, I'm not in the habit of using that word but that is how I see this artists work. He lays on oil with such determination, determination to re-create what he see's, the ocean truly does move around like this, strong wave formations and huge rise and fall. He uses cool blues and greys on top of warm, deep reds. This combination gives us a false impression as the sea really can be cruel. Seascapes are just one of his subjects, go and see for yourself, great pictures.

Editors comment: There seems to be no limit to this artists ability with paint. I like this painting, 'St Brelades Bay, Jersey' due to the strong distant reflections which give such depth to an otherwise plain expanse of beach. The vast area of beach itself has strong colour that compliments the deep blue of the sea, I just love that one single breaking wave that laps both the sand and the distant water. Beautiful paintings for us all to view.

Editors comment: Some excellent marine paintings on show here, living where the artist does I expect he gets to see the sea in all of its glory, and fury! Painting water isn't easy, especially moving water, the artist captures it without any problems at all. He uses colour that is truly representative of where he lives, grey blue tones predominate, he paints it as he sees it. The dramatic cliffs in this painting show us how powerful this beautiful country is. Jim paints a first class picture, some of the work is extremely dramatic, you will enjoy your visit, I did.

Editors comment: More paintings from the isles of Scilly, oh how I envy these artists, I cannot think of a better way to spend the day than painting views like this. I can feel the water lapping my toes, that means the painting is working. The artist catches the light in all of it's natural glory, the colours are warm and relaxing, the whole piece works. I really do recommend a visit, you may even want to buy one, lovely.
