The artist also has many paintings of Shrewsbury, once again lovely work. I can honestly recommend you to pay him a visit and see more of his work.

Editors comment: This painting, 'The Red Cafe, Paris', shows us the artists distinct impressionistic style, a strong use of colour make this work stand out from the crowd. The use of cold blues against hot reds make for an interesting painting, the work is further enhanced by the gentle, warm yellows, that are the lights shining out from the building. The strong figure in the foreground is the absolute opposite of the shadowy figures behind. All of this makes for an interesting, moody composition. I do like the way the figures vanish into the dark, distant, night. Charles doesn't have many paintings on show but they do make interesting viewing. Excellent impressionistic paintings.

Editors comment: I have chosen this painting because of the colours used, cool blues are difficult to paint, for this painting there is a feeling of calm as the light dances across the waves. I can almost hear just the one wave breaking gently. Shelly has many works on display, some are large individual pieces that join together to form a panoramic display. One feature of the artists site is the sliding display on the home page, excellent, lovely, I like both the work and the display, you will too.

Editors comment: My first thoughts when I saw this painting were how can anyone paint a subject so vast as this so good. As I looked through the rest of Jo's paintings I realised this is just one of many. The artist has taken the warmth of the reds and blended them in quite beautifully with strong blues, a hint of green in the transition. Excellent colour manipulation. I recommend that you see for yourself, such vastness.

Editors comment: This painting, 'Light Storm', reminds me of 'the northern lights' a phenomenon that I was fortunate to witness a long time ago, I don't know if Stella means us to think that but it does. The unusual format of the work gets me thinking of the tall narrow walls that are either side of a chimney breast, if you have a chimney that is, a perfect place for this to hang. There is a gentle hint of the horizon in the far distance, a nice painting.
