  • Site Name: Avart
  • Site description: Classic aircraft portrayed in oils - evocative nostalgic - a tribute to the bravery of pilots in dangerous skies.
  • Editors comment: Jeremy paints aircraft with absolute accuracy. It is just one of the things I noticed as I browsed through his site, another is that the artist pays a lot of attention to detail, he has to, as the subjects have to be 'right'. Take this painting here, the Typhoon pilot, Johnny Baldwin, claims his 5th victim on the 27th of August 1943, yes, Jeremy even gives us the full text description of the painting. That makes him unique I think and well deserving of some of your time. Go and enjoy the Harrier's, the Hurricane's and the one my father flew in, the Lancaster, and many, many more

  • Editors comment: Another painting where the artist 'brings together' land and water, he makes it look so easy and yet it really isn't. The composition of all of Chris's paintings show that he takes time to get it right, once his drawing is composed the work is halfway finished. You still have to paint it though, and Chris has no problem there. A first class artist and one I have no hesitation in recommending to you.

  • Site Name: The Artwork of John Walker
  • Site description: My aims are to provide a series of 'galleries', that visitors will hopefully enjoy, and to expose some of my artwork to the public. There are examples of my paintings, works in progress, and in some cases, my photographs.
  • Editors comment: This one of John's oils , I can see a distinct style that is evident in all of his oils, it is best described as 'rich' in both colour and tone. A strong palette is used quite gently in places, for example, the gentle cool blues in the sky, and barely noticeable but really important, the streaks of light colour in front of the beautifully painted main tree. This use of tonal balance give this painting added depth. A lovely painting.

  • Site description: a collection of contemporary oil paintings
  • Editors comment: This young man is about to study for his MSc Digital Media at the University of Hull in Scarborough. I hope he is accepted, why, he is a talent that's why. I think this young man has a future in art, his paintings are unique in every manner, his subject matter is almost anything he wants it to be, I think that is why he should hopefully succeed. This painting is reminiscent of the old masters, the detail in the drawing is exceptional, right down to the colour perspective it cannot be faulted. Go and see for yourself just what I mean., very good.

  • Site description: An official website displaying my creative works and methodology.
  • Editors comment: Well this artist's work is interesting, very interesting. I have nothing but admiration for any artist that can create work such as this. Michael uses a bold mixture of colour and inspiration, and somehow manages to combine these skills to produce work that leaves me spellbound. Where do I begin to do the artist justice, I don't know. What I will say is the main gallery of work is not apparent straight away, you need to click the link just above his e-mail address. If you enjoy art by a free spirit you will love this.

  • Editors comment: Well look here, what a nostalgic era this recalls. Pelsall as well, a long story, but this painting of the station says it all. Steve, paints with such enthusiasm it shows in all of his work. The attention here to detail is impressive, the snow treatment is stunning it really is, the perspective is also faultless. The artist also paints native american indians, as far away from Pelsall as you could get, but heck they are good. This is one artist that you must, I use the word with care, must visit his site, you will be amazed at the content, I was. Excellent paintings from an outstanding artist.

  • Site Name: Paintings of London by Geoffrey Smith
  • Site description: Oil paintings of London, Venice, Provence, Cornwall and Yorkshire for sale and commissioned
  • Editors comment: 'Thames from Lambeth Bridge' here is one of Geoffrey's London paintings, it accurately represents all of the artists work. The houses of parliament is the perfect backdrop for the boats in the foreground, what isn't clear in my image is the perspective of the painting as a whole, it is complex. The artist mentions the wave patterns bringing a sense movement to the painting, they do, and they do it well. What you cannot see from my thumbnail is the complications of the waves, you really do need to see the full size image to appreciate the work involved in these. A confident painting by a confident artist and one I can fully recommend to you.

  • Site Name: John Davis
  • Site description: The site showcases original oil paintings by John Davis
  • Editors comment: This artist has an extensive collection of paintings on display, this painting here is exceptional because of the feeling within the painting. The Violin Player almost looks real, one can sense the concentration he is giving to his work, John has somehow captured the moment perfectly without over painting the subject. Some of the paintings have a simplicity that beggars belief, having said that they all follow through with this 'easy going' look to them. I'm sure they were anything but easy to paint, a good artist makes painting look easy, that's a fact. Pay the artist a visit and see for yourself.
Just give a little time to reading the first paragraph on John's homepage, both interesting and accurate.
