With the original painting you can see how the artist applies the oil pastel and achieves the blending nicely using a tissue. This is a lovely painting and I can recommend that you pay him a visit, you won't be disappointed, you will also be able to see the detail more closely.

There are some beautiful atmospheric paintings using a gentle palette of pastel tones. Amongst all this we have figure paintings, lovely ones as well. You must visit to see what I mean.

The sea shows deeper blues toward the horizon but the painting still has the important colour perspective needed. I do like the reflections as they really do make the water look wet, not easy that one, I like even more the way the waters edge is painted, water over sand, even harder. Lovely painting.
