Default screen | Low contrast screen Are you, as I was, receiving mystery pop-ups whenever you connect to the Internet ?
On following a couple of these links I discovered that
endads.com and bybyads.com are trying to sell you the solution,
BUNKUM the solution is FREE and in Windows.
So what is this Messenger pop-up alert that we keep getting
?.
This below is Windows full explanation of the service:
"Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between
clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows
Messenger. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not
be transmitted. If this service is disabled, any services that
explicitly depend on it will fail to start"
OK so what is it, this has nothing to do with the
Windows Instant Messenger services, it also has nothing
to do with the Windows Update notification
either, the average home computer user, you and me, don't need
it, so why the hell do we get it.
Answers on a postcard please to Bill
Gates.
If the answer to the first question is yes well here is the
way to get rid of them, despite altering Windows settings it is
not difficult to make these changes but as I always say anything
like this needs to be read and read again, then do it.
I have put this on a plain page because as usual it is
easier to print off and then you can follow instructions at your
own time and this saves you some ink.
Good luck and stay messenger alert Pop-up free and lucky.
If you are on a network please check with your computer
support staff before disabling any service so that you do not
inadvertently disable a service that your department needs.
