Editors comment: This painting gives us an idea of what Scotland must look like during the winter, the silver birch trees stand lonely against the snowy landscape background, pure beauty. The artist seems to have no limit to his enthusiasm, all of his paintings are lovely, I cannot find one that isn't. What a talent and we are pleased to be able to show his work to you. Excellent, just excellent.
Now if you think that was good read on. Mary Butterworth is an artist like no other, my opinion anyway, she paints absolutely beautiful pictures of the night. Yes, pictures that make you look, the way she represents night scenes is unique. There are many works that I would love to have on my walls, paintings that just catch the breath, stunning work that I'm sure you will enjoy.

Editors comment: The only way I can describe this work is to use the artists own words, well almost, the finished artwork is the stuff of dream, the paint is applied and then the creativity takes control. That is an extremely simplified description, this work, 'Rams Head 2', is a sculpture, it is incredibley well thought out, in fact it goes to show the amazing scope of the human mind and its ability to 'imagine', like I say, amazing. The artist has a huge selection of work similar to this and I do recommend you to visit, read the artists reasoning and be amazed.

Editors comment: This beautiful dog is lovely. The artist, 'Gillian Nadin', seems to know exactly what to do to achieve a painting of this quality. Just brilliant. The Artist Studio has almost 30 artists of this caliber, a site that requires you to spend some time being there, I was ages, there is just so much to look at and read. A terrific site for artist and art lover alike.

Editors comment: I find some of today's pop-art very good, there isn't a lot of details in the finished art-work but I do like them. This one here is both tasteful and well executed. The warmth of the reds are complimented nicely by the blue background. If you like the idea of having a big modern piece of art then you could well have found one, there are quite a few on display in the site and everyone is to a tasteful standard, go and visit and see for yourself. I like the work, you could well do too.

The beautiful way the portrait has been painted really does invite the viewer to study it, the choice of cool blues with only a hint of warmth gives this viewer at least the shivers. Editors comment: What an extremely well painted portrait this is. The artist has captured the features and age of the subject very gently, what I mean by that is there are no hard lines, just nice skin texture. The composition is also well thought out, all in all a very talented artist. Not many pictures though, come on Anupa get the brushes going. Excellent work that I'm sure you will enjoy viewing.

Editors comment: Barry is quite an exceptional portrait artist, that is the conclusion that I have reached. The picture here is about as detailed as it must be possible to be, the eye's, which can be difficult for many artists, are perfect. The skin tones, the dark area of the beard stubble, just right'. The artist has a good eye for colour as well. Everything to give you a satisfactory visit.

Editors comment: This painting of 'Rownan Tree Berries' is typical of Teresa's painting style, nice clean oils, which can go messy, mean that the greens are a soft natural tone, the berries too are a nice soft colour. Against the gentle clear sky we have a well composed painting. The artist paints nature exactly as it would appear to most of us. I like the composition of the work, not too much blue or too much green, just a nicely balanced combination. Teresa also has many drawings on display too, some of the tree studies are particularly nice. The work is well priced as well meaning most of us could afford to put one a wall. very nice work and I ask you to pay a visit and see for yourself.

Editors comment: A nice, almost naive feel, to Ewen's paintings, the one I have chosen here really does describe the work well. It's just beautiful the way the artist has shown the light forcing its way through the trees. At the end of the day artists do need to remember that without light there is no painting, Ewen's work is a strong reminder of that. Lovely work and a nice easy on the eye site, so pay him a visit, I feel sure you will enjoy the work.
