This site set a precedent in 2000 by using images as links so that visitors are able to get a quick idea of the type of content in the artists site, the visitor can then choose whether to visit or not visit saving a lot of download time. Many visitors still use the old 56kb dial-up and are loathe to waste time trying to link to sites that are irrelevant to their requirements.

After your site is added to the artist index a little New artist icon will be placed by the side of your listing on the home page and your site will be listed on the home page for 7 to 10 days or longer as space permits. This is in addition to the category listing. The home page listing is there for our visitors to find new artists quickly and this does encourage them to return. All sites are listed in the order they are submitted.
However, our search engine is indexed to list the featured gallery listings above the standard listings, you will also note some searches bring up 'recommended' artists at the top of the search page. These listings have been paid for above the normal pricing structure. If you would like details of the charges for this type of listing please Contact us here.

Each page has 10 listings to start with, dead links mean this number will drop gradually over time. The Artist index is in alphabetical order. The Site map lists all category links. Skip secondary links on this page and go straight to artists display below

  • Site Name: katherine fairey
  • Site description: The nature of my art is in the naive style with an engaging use of colour and imagination. Combining my style with mixed media brings texture, emotion and pleasure to the images.
  • Editors comment: It is breath of fresh air to see work like this, after all this darn rain it truly does inspire some warmth. The artist chooses a completely different aspect to what we have come to expect, looking down on this subject creates all manner of problems, perspective being the main. However, the perspective is spot on, Katherine must spend a lot of time creating the image, first of all in her mind and then into the painting. Excellent work, it really is.

  • Site name: Contemporary artist Stella Dunkley
  • Site description: Original contemporary seascape & sunset paintings.
  • Editors comment: I have known this artist for many years now and I can honestly say that Stella's subject diversity never fails to amaze me. Whether you want a painting of an animal, or pet, or a stunning sunset she will provide. I have chosen this painting, 'The Boat IV', just because of it's complexity, in that I mean the composition. The way the work has been split into three, I just like it. The thinking behind the boat and it's position is different to what you would expect, the mast disappearing out of the frame! For a variety of superb paintings visit the artist and see for yourself.

  • Editors comment: More excellent paintings from Elise Ferguson, no change in quality either, beautiful paintings, to see just a few of them visit the next link.

Elise uses a strong palette to create some of the most striking paintings I have ever seen. In particular I like, no I love, the beach scenes, especially the ones with figures in, I think they give off such a feeling of warmth it's incredible.

Link to the website of artist Shirley Shelton
  • Site Name: Sunset Contemporary Art
  • Site Description: Gallery of original art, sunset paintings, abstract, impressionist landscape and African paintings on canvas.
  • Editors comment: Shirley describes her work as 'colourful, bold and expressive', she is right. This sunset here is absolutely soaked in bold, strong colours, the main reds 'flow' onto the canvas and blend in with the other darker colours. I suppose this piece is 'bold and strong' but hey you know I sometimes see this type of end to the day in North Wales, just as bold and just as much colour. Beautiful. Just look at the 'eye' in the top centre, almost overpowering. Lovely work for all of us to enjoy.

Link to the website of artist Peter Weston
  • Site Name: Peter's Watercolour Art Gallery
  • Site description: Peter's Art Gallery - a selection of amateur watercolour paintings.
  • Editors comment: If you like contemporary watercolour you will like Peter's work. I love watercolour and am well aware of many of the problems that this medium entails, it's fair to say the artist has no problems. Beautiful gentle washes of colour, then stronger tones dropped in to that wash give the softness that you see in the grass here. The water looks 'wet' achieved by the strong reflections of the bridge. The bridge itself has 'weathered' stone that has been well created by the brush. You should enjoy this artist.

Link to the website of artist Sally Elizabeth French
  • Site Name: Artworks by Martin Kirkwood
  • Site description: Oil, acrylic, pencil and pastel creations by Martin Kirkwood. Original paintings and prints available for purchase.
  • Editors comment: This painting here says more than I ever could. The warmth in the background gradually becoming darker towards the bottom highlights the clever use of contrast that the artist uses in all of his work. We have the cool blues in the girls clothing seeming to bring her to life. The soft skin tones are simply beautiful. 'Lesley' is the name of the subject, she's beautiful as well, the artist has captured the her well. I can honestly say I enjoyed my time spent on Martin's site, you will too.

Link to the website of artist Sally Elizabeth French
  • Site Name: Sally Elizabeth French Artist
  • Site description: Klimt and Impressionist style artist.
  • Editors comment: Sally has an interesting way of painting, the work can either be more traditional like the castle here or quite bold with the theme of artist Gustav Klimt. Klimt had a style quite unique, he was an Impressionist and Symbolist artist and Sally's work is typical. It has to be said that Sally has developed her own way of painting, the result is quite compelling. I have enjoyed my time spent looking at the work, some work though seems to be hesitant in loading, Mozilla FireFox mostly, it will be worth you returning if you should miss some.

Link to the website of artist Minimalmagic
  • Site Name: Minimalmagic
  • Site Description: Textured abstract paintings.
  • Editors comment: This is an incredible talented artist, to take a media such as gold leaf, yes metallic gold leaf, and create a unique and lasting piece of art is really quite, well, incredible. There is no way my small image can reproduce the texture and feeling of the real thing. The large image on the artists site is far better, and even then it cannot show the 'real' texture and beauty, but it is better than mine. I can honestly recommend that you take a visit and see for yourself, it really is 'different' you enjoy.
