Elise Ferguson ArtSite description: Vivid representations of the countryside in acrylic and oils. Landscapes, seascapes and contemporary flower portraits. Editors comment: From seascapes and castles to flowers, that is some transition. Just look at the painting below left, as beautiful a seascape you could ever wish to see. The paintings below all carry the same theme, bright colour and where it matters excellent perspective. There is not one painting that I do not like, and there are lots. |

Rock and Waves Iona
Rocks and Waves, Iona This painting features a young girl playing in the sand and sea, this will bring back memories for many people I'm sure. |
The first row: The first painting is called, 'Rock and waves, Iona', lovely clean sand and deep blues to compliment it. Next, 'Blue Sea and White Sand, Iona', paradise is my first thought, the artist captures the colour and mood of these paintings so well. 'A Walk in the Rockery', this demonstrates that the subject doesn't matter, top quality. The second row: The next is 'Iona Sunset from Fionnphort', a beautiful sunset, rich colour and a gentle reflection. 'Rock Pools Elie', Elise has combined the hard lines of the architecture with the soft sand and water, beautiful. Last we have, the famous St Andrews as the backdrop to the west sands in the foreground. |

The large image below, 'Waves on Kiloran Bay, Colonsay', is a perfect example of the style that Elise Ferguson paints in. She uses a terrific palette well, the combination of the blues, deep and rich, in this work, work extremely well. You can sense the feeling in the paintings all of the time. |

Waves on Kiloran Bay, Colonsay
I have chosen this painting Waves on Kiloran Bay, Colonsay because it shows us just how talented this artist is, painting the waves or ripples of the sea is not easy, in fact it is the opposite. |
The third row of images: This work, 'The Old Granary, Elie', once again we have hard lines complimented by the foreground, I do like in particular the water treatment above the wet sand. 'Goatfell Reflections Arran', beautiful. 'Looking across the Sound, Iona', just a lovely painting, the deep green colour in the sea, lovely. The last row comprises: This next painting is, 'Loch Achray in Autumn', what a peaceful setting, the large tree branch 'frames' the view perfectly. Next we have, 'Ben Venue through Oak Trees', the artist has captured the autumn colours brilliantly. Last is, 'Fidra Reflections', this last painting shows yet again just how beautiful Scotland is. |
