Elise Ferguson Art

Rocks and Waves, Iona
Site description:Vivid representations of the countryside in acrylic and oils. Landscapes, seascapes and contemporary flower portraits.
Editors comment:From seascapes and castles to flowers, that is some transition. Just look at the painting above, as beautiful a seacape you could ever wish to see. The paintings below all carry the same theme, bright colour and where it matters excellent perspective. There is not one painting that I do not like, and there are lots.
Elise is a prolific artist and fully deserving of some of your time, there are many original paintings available to purchase as well.
The first row of images is comprised of a beach scene as seen through flowers, using them to 'frame' the painting is quite clever. Next, 'Croft at Sunset', is a silhouette of an old crofters cottage, next, 'Rock Pools Elie' a warm sunny day captured perfectly. Now, 'Arran through Sand Dunes', what a lovely painting, it is just beautiful. Last, 'Ripples in the Sand', tremendous perspective is just one of its finer points. |

The second row of images is comprised of yet more warm, sunny and peaceful paintings. 'Sandy Beach Calva', well, the painting speaks for itself, stunning. 'Goatfell Reflections, Arran' is an excellent study of how water behaves in calm conditions, 'Fidra Reflections' is possibly the best of them all, my choice only remember, it is exceptional, they both are. The lighthouse in Jersey is a strange place, how on earth Elise has worked out where to start I don't know, it seems like an optical illusion, a snake weaving its way across water, strange. 'Stirling Castle' I have left 'till last as it is quite possibly one of the most difficult subjects of them all. I have painted Stirling Castle, it is a nightmare to get right, there is this huge open space and then the sudden rise up to the buildings themselves, then you have to get the perspective right, nightmare I promise you, Elise, she got it dead right. Perfect. |
