Editors comment: What can I say, captivating is but one word. Again John displays this awesome gift of recognition of life, the ability to be able to draw like this to an exacting standard is not possessed by too many artists. The skill of the technical drawing is followed up with the precise application of the oil paint. The brushwork shown to great effect by the stopping of time itself with the surf breaking around th ladies knees. The gentle reflection just reminds us of the sun on her back. You want to see this painting in its larger format, then you will appreciate it more.
