Site description: prints, paintings and drawings by amanda knowles

Editors comment: The painting above is exceptional, in the sense that the artist is conveying a view that is almost never ending. Amanda has somehow given us the wonderful strip of sand that alone gives a sense of distance.
Painting views like this present a challenge to any artist of where to end the vastness of space, she has done alright, it is a very nice painting and for £26.00 you can get a mounted print, the value of which won't fall through the floor.
Lynton 4 and Lynton 3 are both of similar vein to the main image above, vast distance captured quite beautifully.

The two black and white images are graphic design works that baffle me, abstract art is sometimes confusing to me and although I find some, like these two, easy on the eye some I find to be too complicated.
I envy the artist who can sit down and create this type of work, it takes vision and inspiration to develop work like this, both of these I lack, if it isn't in front of me I can't paint it. That's just me though.

All in all, Amanda has a style that I like, in particular, the coastal scenes, they are excellent, the river Lyn is stunning on the mixed media page, the graphic design abstracts, I'm still learning.
