  • Site description: Site with watercolour art of Landscapes, flowers, autumn, winter. I also accept commissions.
  • Editors comment: I know this artists work quite well and I can honestly say it's beautiful. As a watercolour painter I can see the time and skill that goes into this style of work, it doesn't come easy but Pam makes the colour 'talk' for her. She uses a nice soft palette that results in the type of painting on show here. Like I say, lovely. Pam also has some nice work for sale so don't be surprised if you are tempted.

  • Editors comment: Dorothy is a painter who is quite happy painting any subject, it shows when you see the varied work on display. The artist also produces greetings cards as well as original work there are limited edition prints available. I have chosen this image because of its simplicity, take my word for it painting something like this is a talent, it's all to easy to go over the top and overpaint something, not this one. Lovely work, pay a visit and see for yourself.

  • Site Name: Alan Turner Watercolours
  • Site description: Alan Turner paints watercolours that portray the atmosphere, mood and feel of the subject. Prints also available.
  • Editors comment: Scotland was where we had our last holiday and wow, it's an awesome country. I have chosen this image because it speaks volume for the area. Alan uses strong colour to create atmosphere in all of his work, combine this with strong contrast between light and shade and we have little gems like the one here. The artist also has a collection of South Shropshire paintings, more little gems.

  • Site Name: Stuart Ball Artist living in Rutland
  • Site description: Coastal scenes, countryside villages and industrial scenes in a loose impressionistic, whimsical and witty style.
  • Editors comment: Sea, sky and perspective.... lots of perspective. Stuart paints in one of the most distinct and unique styles I have ever had the pleasure to look at, so distinct as to set him above many. I have chosen this image but the truth is I could have picked any as they are all equal with regard to strength and quality. There is a strong use of colour, tone and perspective. I reckon if you love watercolour you will enjoy this mans work, I certainly have and will do again I'm sure. Please pay him a visit, be warned you may need your credit card.

  • Site description: Unusual treatment with watercolours. Enhanced works and collage. Subtle and powerful. Eclectic subject range.
  • Editors comment: This artist has an incredible range of talent, from the written word to the use of a paint brush Susan captures her thoughts, and captures them well. This painting evokes pure freedom, I can close my eyes and feel the fresh air on my face, the wild flowers of this great country of ours are making a return and artists like Susan create work like this. Her poetry too captures the mind, I really cannot do her work the justice it deserves so I can seriously recommend that you pay her a visit.

  • Editors comment: Stunning, the painting of this Elephant is stunning, I cannot do it justice with this small image when you visit Mark's site you will understand what I mean. The eye of the animal is looking straight at you, very real, very accurate. Mark must spend a considerable amount of time in setting the drawing out before he begins to paint as the detail is excellent. It follows then that the painting is excellent. A site for art lovers who like some detail, lovely work and extremely enjoyable.

  • Editors comment: Amanda is an excellent artist, I have known this artist for some time now and it's fair to say she paints a delightful painting. This site is a new venture for her and is a little short on content, but, the paintings that are on display are as usual beautiful. It's also fair to say that new content is being added on a regular basis and so you will need to bookmark it so that you can return another day. Lovely work and the greyhound says it all, excellent.

  • Site Name: John Abbott, The 'Fenland Artist'.
  • Site description: Self-taught painter specialising in Fenland & East Anglian scenes , Steam Railways and rural landscapes.
  • Editors comment: What lovely paintings, for the traditional watercolour admirers amongst us you will enjoy John's work. I have chosen this image for its feeling of warmth whilst incorporating the technical detail of the birds. The painting also demonstrates good use of colour perspective, a subject sometimes forgotten about, so that the birds are right in front of the viewer giving the feeling of distance to the overall painting. As a watercolour painter I appreciate the painting very much, I'm sure that you will too, lovely work.

  • Site description: Beautiful, detailed flower paintings from life. Cards and prints available
  • Editors comment: I have to confess that watercolour is my favourite media for painting, I'm biased, I shall try to be fair though. This artist paints one of the most delightful flower watercolour paintings I have ever seen. Told you so... Seriously if you enjoy watercolour and in particular botany you will love this work, an astonishingly good attention to detail that would be good enough, but taken with the, sorry, beautiful application of watercolour makes them, as I said, delightful, prints are for sale as well so go and see for yourself, beautiful.

  • Site description: Watercolour award winning professional artist Sheila Gill, she produces pictures of a startling luminosity.
  • Editors comment: It has been pure pleasure slowly browsing Sheila's site, whether it's the gorgeous deep rich landscapes or any other subject they are all equally as interesting to view. The artist is not afraid to use strong colour, many artists don't, she uses it in a bold manner that can only pull us into the painting, like this view of the Peak District, I can really feel as though I am standing there, excellent. With the animal paintings the artist again uses a strong palette, completely unafraid to just lay the wash and let it settle. You should enjoy this work, I certainly did.
