  • Editors comment: It's a crying shame that us artists have to somehow wreck their internet images trying to protect copyright, Paul is right to do it but isn't it a shame. OK that's off my chest now to the work, it is very good. Just look at the old Indian the artist has captured everything, light, tone, a good choice of colour balance and look at the weather beaten face, outstanding. The only thing missing is the amount of paintings however the site does say more are to follow. Great, give the site a visit.

  • Editors comment: I have chosen a still life by this artist because they can be tricky as a subject, I have studied this picture and I am well impressed with it. I once tried to paint a glass milk bottle !!, not very good I'm afraid and that is why I applaud this picture because of it's realism. Although it is obviously a painting the detail is accurate so we have a painting and not a photographic painting, there is a difference. I recommend that you pay a visit as there are some nice paintings on display.

  • Editors comment: The artist has very little to say so I shall implement. The image I have chosen is for a reason, I know North Wales and this area extremely well as I used to do a lot of fishing there, this being the case I can personally state that the artist has captured the landscape perfectly. The area is rich in artist subject owing to it's history of slate mining, this provides a good artist with many paintings and Peter is very good. I urge you to visit the site and see what I mean.

  • Editors comment: Nice fresh and quite atmospherical watercolours. What I do notice is that this painting is drawn well and this being the case the end result is very appealing. Daniel says he "gains immense satisfaction from painting and find it rewarding and encouraging to see a very gradual improvement in my skills and techniques", well I agree with that statement, the rewards from painting are immense. The more you look at nature the more she rewards you, please visit his site and see some more.

  • Editors comment: Beautiful watercolour paintings is my first impression on visiting the artists site, I still think that after the visit. A unique format that I find extrordinary but quite appealing gives us an insight into the artists mind. The flowers are the subject and yet the tree is in focus, lovely I like it a lot. In traditional watercolour style the paintings are superb.

  • Editors comment: Nice clear watercolour paintings is the best way I can describe this artists work. As I have often said watercolour can be easily overworked if the artist is not careful, this artist is careful and so we get nice paintings. I can recommend you visit the site as there are some nice pictures on display.

  • Site description: Watercolour landscapes, mainly of the coasts & beaches of Cornwall and Northumberland.
  • Editors comment: Nice contempory watercolour paintings. The artist uses watercolour as it should be, like the image on the left, loose washes, brilliant granulation and just a hint of the sailing boats. Like I said, nice. I know how easy it is to overwork watercolour and Steve's paintings don't look laboured and so the result is clean fresh paintings. Granulation is a bit of a hit and miss thing, this picture is a hit. I do recommend that you pay a visit.

  • Editors comment: I absolutely love these paintings, watercolour is my favorite so I suppose I am going to say that, but these paintings stand out, and they are not all watercolour anyway, they are just painted spot on for my money. When I view a painting I look to be drawn into it, these paintings do that. The colour, overall tone and colour balance are precise and correct. All I can say is just go and see for yourself, you should be more than pleased. beautiful work.
