Editors comment: Where do I start? for anyone who is looking for an artist to paint their beloved pet, well they may have found one. The image on the left is about as accurate as it can get. Many artists paint pet portraits and it is difficult for me to pick one against another and so I'm not going to try, but, Georgina is up there with the very best. Like I said if you are looking for an artist then give Georgina a shout.

Editors comment: I am a sucker for Border Collies, having always owned the breed it is no surprise I love them. This painting is perfect, the drawing is excellent, it has to be, and then the brushwork, so precise. The colours are blended quite beautifully, pastel is not an easy medium to use but Carol seems to have no problems. There is much more I could say about the artists work but you be your own judge, I am delighted to be able to recommend you to pay a visit, if you love animals you will love these paintings.

Editors comment: Marc uses pastel in a loose, sort of, flurry of strokes. He places great emphasis on light and shade and has a keen eye for perspective. Most of the work is of floral subjects but he has a couple of lovely cliff and beach landscapes, one of which 'Secret Cove' I find very appealing, a true glimpse of Cornwall. I fully recommend that you pay a visit. A couple of the paintings I really do like, take a peep and see for yourself. Bye the way, there is an opportunity to buy greetings cards, a nice idea for Christmas.

Editors comment: Graham has a style that is completely David Bellamy, for those who don't know David's work you can trust me when I describe him as a watercolour genius. Graham has a hard act to follow. However, he has developed his own style with the Bellamy influence showing in his finished work. Atmospheric mountains is just one description of Graham's work that I apply, Y-Garn is a mountain I know well, the artist has captured it quite beautifully. Take a look you will be impressed.

Editors comment: This beautiful portrait of 'Denver' says it all, much better than I can. The artist has a busy website and includes details of her work for 'Emmerdale' the well known Yorkshire soap. There is a competition for an A4 print of Julie's work. A talented lady who is capable of re-producing animal or human portraits seemingly with ease. Excellent work and an interesting site.

Editors comment: The painting of this dog is my choice for a sample, not only because I love dogs but because of it's technical drawing accuracy. Painting portraits of any living subject requires a lot of skill, there are many parts to the initial sketch that can go wrong, the face in general takes in many tiny details that must be right for the finished painting to work. Helen has them all right. beautiful, and lifelike, portraits of both animals and people wait for you here, go and take a look.

Editors comment: What a lovely composition this painting has, the warmth of the fading sun casting beautiful reflections in the river. There is one particular painting that I find extremely well thought out, "Skyscrapers of Manhattan" has to be seen to be believed. Composition is a very important part of any painting and Michelle seems to excel in the part, also I find perspective to be a challenge with some subjects, well if you visit the artists site you will find work with excellent perspective, great work so go and see.

Site description:I love nothing more than relaxing with a set of pastels and capturing forever an idea on paper. Anything inspires me.
Editors comment: The artist is correct when he says exciting images, the image on the left is both modern and, well, quite provocative. I love his loose style and I can imagine the pastels flowing freely when he is inspired, he is careful with the composition, in fact quite clever because he leaves a little to the viewers imagination thereby creating a talking point. John also uses a bold palette which gives the paintings impact. I really can say I enjoyed my visit. You should too.
