Editors comment: 'Seagulls and Boat' What a nice relaxing painting. This is the type of view that many of you may have come across if you holiday or live in Cornwall. It is a cleverly composed painting with the sea just visible in the distance. The soft nature of the sand dunes compliments the hard lines of the boat. Nice deep blues come down to the dark horizon and then this almost white sand leads the eye to the main subject. Another outstanding painting.

Editors comment: I have chosen this work, 'Red Horizon' because of the incredibly strong reds. The depth of warmth created is quite exceptional, it is almost the view of a raging fire in the far distance. Blue is used quite a lot in Paul's work but now and then we find a gem like this. I think that all of the artists work could sit nicely in any office or even a doctors surgery, it may just make people feel better, in either place.

Editors comment: This painting, 'Light Storm', reminds me of 'the northern lights' a phenomenon that I was fortunate to witness a long time ago, I don't know if Stella means us to think that but it does. The unusual format of the work gets me thinking of the tall narrow walls that are either side of a chimney breast, if you have a chimney that is, a perfect place for this to hang. There is a gentle hint of the horizon in the far distance, a nice painting.

Editors comment: There seems to be no limit to this artists ability with paint. I like this painting, 'St Brelades Bay, Jersey' due to the strong distant reflections which give such depth to an otherwise plain expanse of beach. The vast area of beach itself has strong colour that compliments the deep blue of the sea, I just love that one single breaking wave that laps both the sand and the distant water. Beautiful paintings for us all to view.

Editors comment: My first thoughts when I saw this painting were how can anyone paint a subject so vast as this so good. As I looked through the rest of Jo's paintings I realised this is just one of many. The artist has taken the warmth of the reds and blended them in quite beautifully with strong blues, a hint of green in the transition. Excellent colour manipulation. I recommend that you see for yourself, such vastness.

Editors comment: This painting here says more than I ever could. The warmth in the background gradually becoming darker towards the bottom highlights the clever use of contrast that the artist uses in all of his work. We have the cool blues in the girls clothing seeming to bring her to life. The soft skin tones are simply beautiful. 'Lesley' is the name of the subject, she's beautiful as well, the artist has captured the her well. I can honestly say I enjoyed my time spent on Martin's site, you will too.

Editors comment: Sally has an interesting way of painting, the work can either be more traditional like the castle here or quite bold with the theme of artist Gustav Klimt. Klimt had a style quite unique, he was an Impressionist and Symbolist artist and Sally's work is typical. It has to be said that Sally has developed her own way of painting, the result is quite compelling. I have enjoyed my time spent looking at the work, some work though seems to be hesitant in loading, Mozilla FireFox mostly, it will be worth you returning if you should miss some.

"my dad's chair is empty waiting for the tired imprint of his life sapped body and cigarette spills-the hearth is cracked and the warmth of last night's coal fire is a distant memory think i'll go back to bed and lie under the weight of pre duvet blankets not even aware that dylan is talkin to me"

Editors comment: I have chosen this painting because of the colours used, cool blues are difficult to paint, for this painting there is a feeling of calm as the light dances across the waves. Editors comment: When I first saw this painting on the artists site I thought she was standing by her subject who was sitting, wrong, this is a portrait, a darn good one. Jane also paints animal, pet portraits, with equal skill. There is one of two Alsatians called Ace and Amber, again beautiful work. The initial drawing is so accurate it make the finished article look easy, it isn't easy. Excellent work and I'm sure you will enjoy it. There is not more I can say really, the paintings speak for themselves. Brilliant.
