Editors comment: Technically correct and quite precise, these figure paintings, drawings, by the artist are an insight into the beauty and the really quite humbling human form. If any of you have ever sat in on a life class you will appreciate the skill of this artist. Sarah has developed her own really quite fluid way of creating her work, the colours are used to 'flow' around the figure being painted. Very talented is my description. Very affordable is my opinion, a cracking good investment for art collectors. Nice work, I like it, you should too.

Editors comment: Not being able to paint people I fully understand the difficulty that the subject poses. When I first visited Carmen's site I was taken with the technical aspect of her paintings, the figure paintings are without exception excellent. The artist also gives us a glimpse into some of her other work, animal and people portraits, again drawn to perfection, the reason I keep harping on about the drawing aspect is simple, if it isn't drawn right it can never be painted right. pay a visit and you will see what I mean.

Editors comment: I am not sure how to describe Kate's work but it's good, very good. To paint on material such as velvet must be fraught with problems but all we see is the finished article, it is both refreshing and different. I see the artist uses strong, bright colour that merges softly into the material, I think it's great. The artist is also competent in drawing the human form, this is evident with the few sketches on display, Kate does say there is more to come and I for one look forward to seeing them, you will enjoy this artists work.

Editors comment: For a long time now I have often wondered just what constitutes a "photographic" painting, I now know, I am looking at one, and so are you. This artists drawing skill is outstanding and because of that his paintings are, to say they are realistic is an understatement. The artist also has what you might term "loose", more of a coloured sketch, artwork on the site, all in all a fantastic site to visit, I certainly enjoyed mine.

A thoughtful mix of colour, using cool tones and warm tones give us a sound finished painting, the composition of the subject is likewise well thought out with the background not fighting the foreground. If you love traditional paintings and an artist who studies life with vigor then pay Kathie a visit, you will enjoy the display, and the method of that display, I did.
