Editors comment: This image, 'Breezy Twilight' by artist Christine Derrick, is just one of many really quite beautiful paintings that are on display, and for sale, at The Artist Studio. 'Breezy Twilight' is quite breathtaking with it's use of striking colours, most are cool blues, the colours gently blend toward the centre with the use of warm reds and yellows. The strong, almost monochrome foreground just gives the sense of distance to the complete work. Beautiful.

Editors comment: This painting of 'Trevance Cove Beach' is of my liking, the painting, an original oil, is not overworked and looks fresh as a result. The painting shows excellent colour perspective and tonal balance, it would be easy to get that wrong with a subject like this. Once again I must stress that every artist has work to this standard and I admit to being at a loss over which images to choose. The only thing I can do is urge you to pay a visit to the site and form your own conclusion.

Editors comment: As with all art groups I find that choosing 1 image from so many so difficult. I like the style of this artists work, John Ashton, immensely. The figures in this painting, 'The Market' are simply anonymous, what a refreshing change to the norm, whatever that is. The artist has given the work a focus leading the viewers eye in, to the centre, of the painting by using strong contrasting colour, going from one extreme to the other. Like I say, choosing one is difficult. All of the artists in this group paint to the same high standard and you should enjoy the work just as I have.

I shouldn't be choosing any one artist in preference to another but this man, David Brammeld, paints a stunning picture. Some of his work is just full of nostalgia, and this is why you see one of his paintings here. I do include the many other talented artists who are listed in the site as outstanding. An excellent site with a terrific outlook on the arts.
If you know the area you will be hooked immediately. Like I say a superb collection of very talented artists, this includes sculpture as well, all types of art, everything.
