Crepe Satin

Site description: paintings, batik and batik scarves.

Beginning with photography I create my work using combinations of acrylic, oils and batik and watercolour. ‘Red Dash’ and ‘Reflections Blues with Fish’ are examples of batik with acrylics and oils on a canvas panel............
Editors Comment: The bold quote above is taken from Nicola's site, the process that some of these works go through is amazing. The silk even 'looks' soft on the skin, one cannot imagine the skill and dedication that must take place.
Another quote: 'All scarves are hand made and decorated using batik.' This part of my review is tricky. I know nothing at all about this subject but I will say if the work is as satisfying as the paintings you will be impressed.

The left hand side image is a photograph catching the never ending ripple of moving water. The one in the middle is an Acrylic painting this time Nicola has caught the ripple and dancing light most beautifully. Finally we see the 'Lake Reflections' which is a lovely soft, gentle on the eye watercolour painting.
I can recommend you to pay a visit for you will enjoy Nicola's work, I most certainly have, and can truly recommend you take a look as well.
