  • Site Description:Traditional landscape fine art paintings by Northumberland artist Joe Hush, Medium - Acrylic and Watercolour.
  • Editors comment: What can I say about this artist that his work alone does not say. Joe is a master of catching light, it only takes a fraction of time for mother nature to sing her song and then it's gone again, only to start all over again. Artists have toiled since time began to 'catch' light. The text below is taken from Joe's own site, it says far more than I ever could. A super artist painting beautiful pictures.
  • Light can transform an otherwise uninteresting subject into something that inspires you enough to paint it. Imagine a wooded walk on a dull day, muted tones of greens and greys, then the sun breaks through the clouds and immediately casts shadows across the earth track, not now dull but an earth warmed by the sunlight.

  • Site Description:Figurative Paintings, Digital Art work by Ann Foster.
  • Editors comment: This artist paints some of the most interesting subjects a man or woman could ever dream of. Talking of dreaming, I wonder where Ann gets her inspiration from, goodness knows but the result is astonishing. Some of the paintings I looked at for maybe 10 minutes and I still wonder at the content. The artist uses bright or calm colour combinations in addition to an excellent drawing skill to produce art that is sometimes joyous and sometimes sad, I can honestly recommend you pay a visit and see for yourself.

  • Editors comment: There isn't a lot I can say about this work except beautiful. The open landscape, often very difficult to draw never mind paint is captured by David quite beautifully. I say difficult because most artists, me included, like some foreground, this gives a painting a sense of distance so if you look at this painting on the left you will realise just how good it is. Looking at it you can see miles of distance, no definitive foreground though!, like I say, excellent. You really will enjoy your visit to this site.

  • Site Name: Sibylle Arts
  • Site Description:French artist based in the Cambridge area, a range of colourful and vibrant paintings to brighten any location.
  • Editors comment: The artist paints an interesting picture, Sibylle creates a complicated background and then paints the most beautiful of portraits and nothing clashes! I have chosen this picture because it represents the bright, strong and vibrant colour combinations in most of the work. The artist also paints real life situations, the "Night Cigarette" for one, it shows how alienated we have all become to smokers, the artist has a good eye for the unusual, I love the work just because of that. The site has plenty of work on display and you should enjoy your visit.

  • Site Name: Kevin Willetts Paintings
  • Site Description:Abstract paintings inspired by conflicts of modern scientific ideas and ancient & religious beliefs.
  • Editors comment: I never fail to be amazed at some of the artwork I get to see, I really do have an enviable job ! Sometimes I struggle to evaluate a modern abstract piece of work but in this case not a problem. I have spent ages looking at these paintings and I see different forms take different directions ! I often ask an artist where do you get your inspiration from? What I do like are the pastel shades, all in perfect harmony with there neighbour. There isn't much more I can say except go and give the artist a visit and see for yourself, like I say you will be amazed at what you do see.

  • Site Name: Painter Gary J Campbell
  • Site Description:Private and thought provoking paintings and fantasy images portraiture and illustration by British artist
  • Editors comment: A strong palette and a bold style bring this painting to life almost, I am amazed that that the red isn't trying to get in front of the subject !! The artist seems to have an excellent eye for the technical drawing portion of the painting, many artists, me included, can never quite get life subjects right. Figure painting is a craft on it's own and Gary seems to have it sorted. The composition is good because there are no competing parts of the overall painting, the man is the subject, period.
Gary has many more paintings that he will be adding to this new site in the next few weeks, so bookmark his site for a future return Excellent work. What about that red?

  • Site Description:A brief history of artist +gallery pages of available signed prints.
  • Editors comment: I am extremely impressed with this artists work, I love marine/boat paintings because of the way an artist can create the complicated round and curved shapes that define the shape of the vessel, Joe also gives us in many paintings a beautiful rendition of water, particularly sea water, again a difficult subject that he seems to master with ease. Where there is a landscape involved again the artist excells. I have just revisited Joe's site and there are that many more subjects painted I cannot do him justice so please give him a visit.

  • Site Description:2 online galleries of semi-abstract acrylic paintings by talented young artist Beth Richardson.
  • Editors comment: This image here shows someone in pain, I think so anyway, the artist sure does know how to capture feelings in a painting. I have seen work of similar nature but not by a living artist, Beth to me has a very distinct style that can only work to her advantage, I feel sure she will become more well known with the passing of time. Watch my words. Give her site a visit and see for yourself, you will enjoy.

  • Site Name: nicecanvas
  • Site Description:Original Contemporary Canvas Art using Acrylics.
  • Editors comment: The artists description really says it all. I have chosen this painting because it invokes a nice warm feeling for me, a warm mixture of reds, yellows and maybe burnt sienna running down into dark shades of brown even burnt umber, together they give the warmth. I'm not sure if colour perspective comes into it but I suppose it must. Anyway Amanda's paintings are worthy of your time and I suggest you take a look and see for yourself.
